Practical and Vibrant: Viking-Era Fashion
Practical and Vibrant: Viking-Era Fashion
Inspired by medieval designs from the age of Vikings, our Norse collection features the bright, colorful, and above all, practical styles from this era. The cuts featured in these garments are inspired by historical Birka, Thorsberg moor, and Skjoldehamn archaeological finds. While a few items are made of fine, warm wool blend fabric, the majority of our Norse Collection is made of natural cotton. Fine cuts and a selection of colors will let you customize your outfit for a unique and authentic look.
History of Norse Clothing
Perhaps best known for living in the cold expanses of Northern Europe, the Norse needed warm and functional clothes. However, that doesn’t mean they neglected style. Vibrant colors were a regular staple for both men and women. Men wore trousers, tunics, and undershirts, while women traditionally wore long linen chemises with wool apron overdresses. Garments of linen and wool were typically layered to ward against frigid winter weather.
