Description:

During the Late Middle Ages, arm armor was widely embraced among knights and wealthy men-at-arms alike. Made up of three components: a vambrace to protect the forearm; a couter for the elbow; and rerebrace cover over top - these pieces were joined together in such a way that hand mobility remained intact. As fashion changed so too did this style piece with styles ranging from simple rounded shapes, heart shaped forms through larger fluted wings as seen on German gothic arms up until 1550.

These double-jointed armor pieces move with you, never weighing you down. They are smartly hung from a leather band and fastened to your mail shirt with arming laces (not included). No matter how heated the battle gets they stay firmly secured in place thanks to tough leather straps at forearm, elbow and upper arm. Acting like wings that tuck inward flawlessly, these arm guards protect those most vulnerable areas above all else...your inner elbows!

• Made in 1.6mm steel; thickness may vary due to the handcrafted methods
• Has a satin finish so its surface will be slightly reflective
• Steel is untreated but can be protected with mineral or synthetic oil if desired
• Made from carbon steel and leather
• Weighs 4.6 kg

I would like to like this more

First the good part: the steel and the protection it provides is excellent, and it looks cool. The sleeve part even has a moving rivet for a bit of extra rotation. Movement is good.
Since the measurements were missing: total length when fully extended: 49 cm, from the point of the elbow to the sleeve: 32 cm, and from the elbow to the top 27cm.
Now for the bad: it is held on by 3 straps to your arm and not to any other armor piece, and the weight of the armor drags it down, so whenever your arms are facing downwards it slides down somewhat so you constantly try to push it back up. It needs a way to connect to the rest of your armor or it's just frustrating. The other bad part is that there are two metal hinges next to your sleeve, which snag with the "Mitten gauntlets 1.6mm" that I bought, drastically reducing the movement of the hands. If you buy this then do not pair it with gauntlets with an hour glass shape.
